The Italian football association (FIGC) announced on Monday that former Juventus Chairman Andrea Agnelli has been given a 16-month ban from the sport by an Italian football court.
This decision comes as a result of an investigation into the club’s improper payments to players.
According to the FIGC, Agnelli, who was involved in an unsuccessful European Super League venture in 2021, has also been fined 60,000 euros.
Andrea Agnelli served as the chairman of Juventus for over ten years but announced his resignation in November last year due to a financial scandal that affected the renowned Italian football team.
Juventus reached a settlement with Italy’s football authorities in May, agreeing to pay a fine of 718,000 euros and accepting a 10-point penalty for the previous Serie A season as part of the same case.
