Once the goalie for the US men’s national team learned that he and his wife are expecting a daughter, Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner said that he believes he is in serious trouble.

Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner had a memorable night after keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory over El Salvador and after the match he had what would be a gender reveal party where he kicked a bottle of pick smoke.

What happened after USMNT’s victory against El Salvador?

Following the 1-0 victory over El Salvador, Turner’s USMNT teammates and family gathered as the goalie and his wife learned the gender of their unborn child. Prior to an euphoric celebration of USMNT stars, Turner kicked a ball loaded with pink smoke.

Turner is excited to have a baby girl join the family after Monday’s momentous announcement; the pair already has a boy who will turn one in July.

“I was nervous for sure,” Turner told told Goal, “But it’s like an excitement kind of nervous. You just want to know because I just I just like knowing! It’s a good feeling to know that we’re gonna have a little baby girl and I think I’m in big, big trouble in the future. She’s gonna have me wrapped around her finger!”

Turner’s teammates and family were present to enjoy the occasion, which made it much more meaningful. Since going to Arsenal, the goalie hasn’t spent a lot of time with his family in the United States, so he was happy to see so many of them there for this momentous occasion.

Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner added: “20 or so people from my family came down here. Family time is really important to my wife and I and being in London, it’s few and far between. Obviously, we’re chasing this crazy dream over there. That takes away from her being close to her family, because when we were in Boston, she’s from Maine, and me being only a three hour drive from New Jersey. To be able to come here and for U.S. Soccer to be so flexible to allow us to do that, it’s just a really special moment for us and I’m super excited to be a girl dad!”

Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner will now return to Arsenal to pursue his “crazy goal,” which is focused on winning the Premier League. Despite Manchester City having a game in hand, the Gunners currently lead that team by eight points. Turner won’t have to wait long to catch up with his USMNT teammates in England, as Arsenal is scheduled to play Leeds, Brenden Aaronson, Weston McKennie, and Tyler Adams this weekend.
