Aston Villa announced on Saturday that they have acquired French striker Moussa Diaby from Bayer Leverkusen for an undisclosed amount.
According to British media, Diaby will be signing a five-year contract with Villa, with the club reportedly paying 41 million pounds for his services. Previously, there were speculations that Diaby might join Saudi Pro League team Al-Nassr.
The France national player joined Leverkusen in 2019 and played in 172 games, scoring 49 goals. In the previous season, he was the leading goal scorer for the club with 14 goals in all competitions.
Villa has signed Diaby, along with Tielemans and Torres, to strengthen their squad for the upcoming Europa Conference League.
After parting ways with manager Steven Gerrard in October, Villa experienced a remarkable transformation under coach Unai Emery and finished seventh in the Premier League last season.
