Barcelona Transfer News: Barcelona might benefit from the departure of Fati as they try to raise funds to resign Lionel Messi
Ansu Fati has allegedly been told by Barcelona that he is free to leave the team this summer as one of the players whose exit might complete Lionel Messi’s comeback to the team. According to rumours, the club believes that Fati’s departure may aid them in their effort to gather money to lure Messi back.
Due to his lack of playing time this year, the 20-year-old has generated a lot of rumours over the past few months, and he has been linked with a transfer away from the club. A transfer to the Premier League seems possible if Fati departs.
When he was just 18 years old, Fati even received Messi’s famous number 10 shirt, and was previously thought to be the club’s future star. However, injuries in previous seasons have impeded his development. Despite being in good health right now, he has only sometimes played for Xavi’s squad, starting just 11 of his 31 La Liga games so far in 2022–23.

According to information from 90min, agent Jorge Mendes tried to set up a trade deal involving midfielder Ruben Neves between Barcelona and Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, it is claimed that, despite Barcelona’s fondness for Neves, they do not view him as one of their priority targets this summer. Ilkay Gundogan might be acquired without paying a transfer fee, thus the club looks to be more interested in sealing his move.
Wolves are interested in Fati, although he has no great desire to leave Barcelona. Even if he did, he would look for a team that is ranked towards the top of the Premier League and is very competitive. The Premier League’s bottom-dwelling West Ham has also shown interest in Fati, although he is unlikely to be persuaded by them.
