Las Palmas secured their first win at Barcelona since 1971, with Fábio Silva scoring the decisive goal to help Los Amarillos pull five points ahead of the relegation zone in La Liga, finishing the match 2-1. The team started strong at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys and nearly scored. Sandro Ramírez made a run into the Barcelona box without any defenders in his way and found Javier Muñoz, who unfortunately couldn’t direct his header on target. The opening 10 minutes featured back-and-forth action, with the Blaugrana also coming close as Jasper Cillessen saved a first-time shot from Fermín López taken from a tight angle.

Although Barcelona had scored 20 goals in their last five home matches, they struggled to finish in this game, with Raphinha, Jules Koundé, and Pau Cubarsí all missing good chances near the Las Palmas penalty area. The La Liga leaders nearly faced consequences for their missed opportunities when Silva’s curling shot forced Iñaki Peña to make a save. However, Barcelona increased their intensity towards the end of the first half, with Raphinha hitting the crossbar with a powerful shot from just inside the box.

As Barcelona took control of possession in the second half, Las Palmas surprised them by scoring their first goal in Catalonia since 2015. The goal came from a well-executed play that began with goalkeeper Cillessen and ended with Kirian Rodríguez setting up Ramírez, who found the bottom corner past Peña. Las Palmas still had a long way to go to secure their first La Liga victory over Barcelona since 1986, but they couldn’t stop Raphinha’s curling shot from finding the net shortly after the hour mark. The equalizer didn’t diminish Las Palmas’ attacking momentum, as Silva regained the lead for Los Amarillos by shaking off Cubarsí and volleying in his fourth away goal of the season.

Barcelona inevitably sought to equalize again, with Raphinha nearly scoring from a free-kick, but the home team was unable to get past Cillessen and experienced their first home defeat since August. Diego Martínez’s Las Palmas capitalized on their opportunities, and their strong away performance, with five victories out of seven matches on the road, has propelled the Canarian team to 14th place in La Liga.
