Bayern Munich News latest: Tuchel on celebrating a Bundesliga title triumph

Thomas Tuchel, the coach of Bayern Munich, stated that he would be content with winning his first Bundesliga championship without his team playing on Sunday, as long as the Bavarians secure their 11th consecutive league title.

On Saturday, Bayern will face RB Leipzig, who are currently in third place. If Bayern wins, they will be four points ahead of Borussia Dortmund, who are in second place. If Dortmund loses to Augsburg on Sunday, Bayern will win the title with one game left to play.

“I have no problem with that at all,” Tuchel, who has also coached Mainz and Dortmund in the Bundesliga, told a press conference on Friday when asked if winning the title while sitting on a couch would take away some of the excitement.

“As long as we win the title, I don’t care at all how it happens. As long as it happens,” he said.

Tuchel, who departed from Germany to manage Paris St Germain and Chelsea, became the coach of Bayern in late March after Julian Nagelsmann. However, his team was eliminated from the German Cup and Champions League in the quarterfinals.

Despite this, he is just two victories away from securing his first German league title, which is proving to be the most challenging domestic season for Bayern in years. While Tuchel has won the domestic league in France and the Champions League with Chelsea, he has only won a German Cup with his Bundesliga teams.

“In the past the title was decided earlier (for Bayern),” Tuchel said. “The situation in the standings is not routine and the best recipe is to influence what we can influence.”

“We know Leipzig’s style. There are four transition players… and it is extremely important to control the game and kill the breaks before they are created.”

When asked if winning the title would feel genuine for him since he became the coach only a short while ago, Tuchel replied that he would provide a suitable response when the victory actually occurs.
