Bournemouth Latest: Bournemouth Announces Departure of Head Coach Gary O’Neil

AFC Bournemouth have announced that Gary O’Neil has left his position as head coach by mutual consent. The club thanked O’Neil for his contribution and wished him well for the future.

O’Neil joined the Cherries as a first-team coach in October 2022 and took over as interim head coach a month later, following the departure of Scott Parker. He was given the job on a permanent basis in November 2022 and guided the team to a 15th-place finish in the Premier League last season. A return of 10 wins and six draws in the Premier League was enough to maintain the club’s position in the top flight, effectively securing survival with four matches remaining.

O’Neil said: “I have enjoyed my time at AFC Bournemouth and I am proud of what we achieved together. I want to thank the players, staff and fans for their support and I wish the club all the best for the future.”
