Brighton Latest News: Most of Brighton’s top stars are expected to leave the club this summer
Roberto De Zerbi suggests that Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister, who are highly sought after by other clubs, may choose to remain with Brighton now that the team has secured a spot in Europe.
Caicedo, who is from Ecuador, and Mac Allister, a World Cup champion from Argentina, have both had a remarkable season.
De Zerbi, is aware that the midfield duo will be in high demand during the transfer window. However, he is hopeful that the team’s qualification for European competition next season will influence their decision about their future. De Zerbi stated that the upcoming match against Manchester City could potentially be the last game for Mac Allister and Caicedo at the Amex Stadium, but he is uncertain.
“They can have the possibility to change clubs because they deserve to play in another level.”
“But now we can offer them the possibility to play in Europe because our level is bigger now. We can offer them one possibility more.”
Asked if a European place can make the difference, De Zerbi said “It can be. They can have more motivation. But they are very good guys.
“When I work, I think for myself, I think for my club but I think still for the players because the players have one career, one life and we can’t decide for them.”
Brighton, currently in sixth position, is highly likely to secure a spot in the Europa League as their goal difference is considerably superior to that of Aston Villa, who are in seventh place. To eliminate any possibility of dropping into the Europa Conference League, the Seagulls require just one more point.
