Brighton Transfer News: Joao Pedro joins Brighton on a five-year deal

Joao Pedro, a striker from Watford, has signed a five-year contract with Brighton & Hove Albion. The Brazilian is expected to join the team when the close-season transfer market opens.

Although financial information was withheld, British media indicated that the transaction was a record for Brighton and was valued around 30 million pounds. Pedro joined Watford in 2020 and has scored 24 goals in 80 appearances since making his senior debut in 2019 for Brazilian club Fluminense.

“Joao has been a long-term target of ours, and he has also attracted a lot of interest from across Europe,” Brighton’s technical director David Weir said in a statement.

“He’s a brilliant young talent, technically very good, quick and with an eye for goal. He will complement our existing forward line very well.”
