Burnley have completed the move of signing Lawrence Vigouroux on a free transfer

On Tuesday, Burnley announced the signing of Lawrence Vigouroux, a 29-year-old goalkeeper, on a three-year contract. Vigouroux joins the Premier League club on a free transfer from Leyton Orient, a team in the third tier of English football.

Vigouroux has been the preferred goalkeeper for Orient in the past three seasons and played a crucial role in their promotion as champions of League Two. He was instrumental in their success, as they conceded the fewest goals in the fourth division.

“We are looking forward to Lawrence being part of what we are building here at Burnley,” manager Vincent Kompany said.

“He has come through top academy systems to become the player he is today with standout performances in recent years. He is a very talented goalkeeper with a good personality and someone we will enjoy working with.”

The team that won the Championship recently acquired the services of Dara O’Shea, a 24-year-old Irish defender, from West Bromwich Albion, a second-tier club. This signing was made on Friday with the intention of strengthening their squad for their upcoming return to the Premier League.

“It’s amazing to be here,” Vigouroux told the Burnley website. “An unbelievable training ground to be a part of and I’m really happy.”
