Callum Hudson-Odoi is looking to leave Chelsea following his loan spell at Leverkusen
Callum Hudson-Odoi has made the decision to leave Chelsea this summer, according to reports. The 22-year-old English international, who still has one year left on his contract, thinks that his future lies elsewhere, where he can consistently play first-team football.
Hudson-Odoi, who spent the previous season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen, arrived at Chelsea in January 2018 and has since made 126 appearances for the senior squad. He has enjoyed considerable success while playing with the Blues, winning the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, FIFA Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup. Nevertheless, despite his successes, the gifted winger feels that it is now time to look for a new challenge and get first team action.
It is anticipated that Hudson-Odoi won’t stay at the club for long when he reports for the first day of preseason training under the direction of new head coach Mauricio Pochettino. Chelsea had previously stated that they would examine bids for the winger, and it appears that a number of teams are interested in hiring him. Notably, AC Milan, Fulham, and Nottingham Forest are among the teams thought to be interested in signing him.
Even though the specifics of the transfer cost and the prospective destination have not yet been determined Hudson-Odoi is anxious to decide on his future as soon as possible so that he has plenty of time to settle in and get ready for the forthcoming season with his new club. Hudson-Odoi’s departure will definitely create a vacuum in Chelsea’s lineup but it will also the team a chance to further develop its bright young prospects.
