Real Madrid maintained their unbeaten run in the domestic league with a 2-1 victory against Celta Vigo at Estadio de Balaídos in La Liga, marking Celta’s ninth straight defeat in their head-to-head matchups across all competitions. On the night he set a record as the oldest player in Real’s history, the Croatian quickly delivered a perfect pass to Vinícius, who skillfully rounded Guaita to regain the lead for Real.
Celta, who had only lost once at Balaídos in their last 11 matches, continued to threaten with Bamba and Mingueza, while Anastasios Douvikas missed a golden opportunity in stoppage time. That miss allowed Real Madrid to secure the victory, extending their unbeaten league streak to 42 matches ahead of El Clásico next weekend.
