CONCACAF Champions League Results: Santos Laguna and Tigres have booked their place in the semi-finals
Santos Laguna secured an impressive victory against the New York Red Bulls in their CONCACAF Champions League encounter on Tuesday, with Brian Lozano scoring a stunning goal from his own half to cap off a 4-2 win in Torreon. Lozano was the hero of the match, scoring two goals as Santos mounted a comeback, with their four goals in the final 20 minutes propelling them to a dominant victory in the tie.

After a well-worked team move that saw Omir Fernandez tap in a cross from Daniel Royer in just the fourth minute, the visiting Red Bulls looked set to challenge Santos, who had lost their previous game 2-0 at home. Bradley Wright-Phillips then set up Royer to put the visitors in the driving seat, but Santos refused to go down without a fight.

The home team fought back hard, with Jose Abella finding the back of the net before Lozano scored a crucial goal to level the game at 2-2. Diego Valdes then added another goal to give Santos the lead before Lozano scored the best goal of the game in the 81st minute, striking the ball from inside his own half to beat the Red Bulls goalkeeper Luis Robles, who was caught off guard and stranded outside his box.

The win means that Santos will now advance to the semi-finals of the competition, where they will face off against Tigres UANL. In the day’s other match, Tigres secured a 1-0 home win over Houston Dynamo to complete a 3-0 aggregate win, setting up a highly anticipated semi-final encounter between two of Mexico’s most successful football clubs in the CONCACAF Champions League.
