Cristiano Ronaldo believes Saudi Pro League could rank as one of the best in the world

Cristiano Ronaldo thinks that the Saudi Pro League, which he recently joined, has the potential to become one of the world’s top five leagues in the future. He signed a contract with Al-Nassr in January, which some media outlets estimate to be worth over 200 million euros.

Ronaldo has participated in three of the most prestigious football leagues worldwide, including Real Madrid in La Liga of Spain, Manchester United in the English Premier League, and Juventus in Serie A of Italy. He mentioned that the standard of the Saudi Arabian league has progressed, even though he has only been a part of it for a brief period.

“We are much better and the Saudi league is getting better and the next year will be even better,” he told Saudi SSC channel on Tuesday.

“Step-by-step I think this league will be among the top five leagues in the world but they need time, players and infrastructure.”

“But I believe that this country have amazing potential, they have amazing people and the league will be great in my opinion,” he added.

According to a source, the Saudi Arabian football club Al-Hilal has made an official offer to sign Lionel Messi, who is considered to be Ronaldo’s main competitor for the title of best player of their generation. 

On Tuesday, Ronaldo scored an impressive goal to help Al-Nassr defeat Al-Shabab 3-2, delaying Al-Ittihad’s celebration of winning the Saudi Pro League title. The Saudis are known for their ambitious pursuits in the world of football.
