Dean Henderson may be on his way out of Old Trafford
Manchester United have two talented goalkeepers to look up to, David de Gea and Dean Henderson. Henderson was the preferred starting goalkeeper during the last games of last season due to de Gea’s poor form the whole of the season.
Henderson was favourite to replace de Gea this season with a lot of transfer rumours linking de Gea with a move away from Old Trafford. However, things changed when the season started; Solsjkaer wanted to give Henderson some rest after the pre-season games. Along the line, Henderson got Covid, prolonging his recovery time. During the time, David de Gea was used as the first choice goalkeeper and his form this season has been superb, putting Henderson’s future in doubt.
Why is Manchester City’s Stadium not full during their Champions League games?
According to the Daily Mail, Dean Henderson wants to remain at Manchester United and be the team’s first choice goalkeeper. But the situation at Old Trafford is different now, putting his future in doubt. Henderson’s representatives have already started looking for alternatives for him, reported by 90 min. Newcastle United has been rumoured to be interested in the English goalkeeper and may make a move for him in January.
According to reports, United may block any move from other teams for Dean Henderson in January, because the board is still concerned that de Gea may lose his form and will need Henderson to replace him in such cases. United may agree to sell him in the summer if Henderson keeps pushing for a transfer. With 3 and a half years left on his contract, Henderson will be able to amass enough transfer fee for United.
