Premier League: Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest live stream
Chelsea are hoping to win three consecutive victories for the first time since March as they prepare to face Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday at 2:00pm. Mauricio Pochettino’s team narrowly won their previous match against AFC Wimbledon in the EFL Cup, while Nottingham Forest were knocked out by Burnley in the same round.
Chelsea had several changes in the starting lineup when they hosted Wimbledon in their EFL Cup opener. Despite having a young team, Chelsea was surprised by an early penalty from James Tilley. However, Noni Madueke’s penalty just before halftime brought the score level. In the second half, Chelsea had to bring in some of their key players, but it was Enzo Fernandez who ultimately secured the victory. In contrast, Chelsea’s first Premier League win against Luton Town was much more convincing, with Raheem Sterling scoring twice and assisting Nicolas Jackson. With four points from their first three games, Chelsea currently sits in 10th place, a familiar position from last season.
Nottingham Forest had a strong performance against Arsenal and Sheffield United, securing a late victory against the latter. They continued their success by taking a two-goal lead against Manchester United at the Theatre of Dreams. However, their lead was short-lived as Manchester United made a comeback, equalizing through Christian Eriksen and Casemiro. Joe Worrall was then sent off, leaving Forest with 10 men.
Despite their efforts to hold off Manchester United, they ultimately lost the match due to a penalty from Bruno Fernandes. Forest also suffered a defeat in the EFL Cup against Burnley. Although their record of three defeats in four games is not ideal, they can still be proud of their performances against Arsenal and Manchester United. They currently sit in 14th place in the table.
Nottingham Forest managed to secure two draws against the Blues in the previous season of the Premier League. On the other hand, Chelsea have emerged victorious in six matches and settled for draws in two out of the last eight meetings with Nottingham Forest.
Currently, Forest is struggling to secure a victory when playing away from home. Thus, with Chelsea’s key players being well-rested, the inspired hosts led by Sterling can exploit their opponents’ weaknesses on the road once again, resulting in a third consecutive win.
