On Sunday, the Red Devils won again, defeating Leicester 3-0 to close the gap on Manchester City to three points and on table-toppers Arsenal to five points.
After the victory, United will play a key Europa League match against Barcelona this Thursday before taking on Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
And while the busy schedule chock full of high stakes games may be worrying some Manchester United supporters, Ten Hag said in an interview with Sky Sports that he thinks it offers his team the advantage over Newcastle going into the final at Wembley Stadium.
“It’s a big advantage for us. We are used to playing big games and that will be a huge advantage for us. It’s about us to keep the momentum going,” he explained.
Ten Hag also provided an evaluation of the performance on Sunday, expressing his satisfaction with the performance in the second half:
“We are happy with the result, it’s a great result.
“When you played every third day you can’t always get to your same level of performance, and today the first half was really tough. First, Leicester played brilliantly, second, we were rubbish with our way of playing. We were really ill-disciplined in our principles of the game and that caused problems.
“It was only for David de Gea that we got in with a clean sheet at half-time, and we were lucky we scored a great goal
“At half-time we repaired some stuff, and then I thought the second half was brilliant. It was the way I want to see our team play, it was a pleasure. It had to do with getting into the right positions, playing simple football, playing between the lines, runs in behind and it was enjoyable to watch.”
