Today’s news begins with Tottenham boss, Nuno Santo on the brink of losing his job. According to a tweet from Fabrizio Romano last night, Tottenham is considering candidates to manage the team before they sack Nuno Santo. From the tweet, Spurs Sporting director sees Antonio Conte as the right man for the job. A decision is yet to be made on Santo’s future but clearly, Spurs’ defeat to Manchester United has complicated his stay.

It is now clear that Lionel Messi would favour a return to his former club Barcelona. As to whether it will be before he hangs his boots or after, we do not know. Messi told Diario Sport that he would love to return to Barcelona one day as he would love to help the club again. He made it clear that he would one to be a technical secretary one day and it may not be at Barcelona, however, he would still want to contribute to the success of the club.

David Alaba has pin pointed that at Madrid, everything is a shade bigger than Bayern Munich. Alaba seems to be enjoying life in Madrid and to back that up, he has displayed fantastic performances in the games he has featured for Madrid, especially the El Clasico. A report from Sport has stated that Sergio Aguero has been diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia; a condition where an individual experiences irregular heart beats. Aguero was subbed off during Barcelona’s game last Saturday after he was found lying on the pitch holding his throat and chest. Regarding the severity of the condition, several tests will need to be done before we can find out. A serious condition could threaten his football career.

Barcelona have been hit with an injury blow, just before a crucial Champions League game; Gerard Pique is likely to be out of action for sometime due to a calf injury. This means that he may miss Barcelona’s game with Dynamo Kyiv and may not be available until after the international break. Pique scored Barcelona’s crucial goal for them in their last Champions League game to get their first win of the season; he will clearly be missed.

Manchester United’s Paul Pogba is yet to sign a contract extension and currently, there are several rumours surrounding his future. Marca reported that Real Madrid are monitoring the midfielder’s situation. Le 10 Sport says the same for PSG. Will Pogba sign an extension or leave for free during the summer?

Reports from Tuttorsport indicate that Dusan Vlahovic would like to join Juventus. A tweet from Fabrizio indicates that he has turned down several contract proposals from Fiorentina and could leave the club in January or during the summer. Vlahovic has been superb this year, netting 25 goals in 34 games in 2021; 8 goals in 11 Serie A games this season.
