Fulham Transfer news: Fulham have set a price tag of more than £50m for their prized midfielder

Football Insider reports that Liverpool and Bayern Munich are both interested in Joao Palhinha, and Fulham will be looking for offers above £50 million this summer. Bayern Munich reportedly expressed interest in the midfielder earlier this month after seeing him play live the month before.

Top Premier League teams like Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester United, and Chelsea are all said to be interested in Palhinha, who has excelled in his debut season in England, in addition to Bayern Munich.

The interest shown by Bayern Munich has increased the difficulty of the race among premier English teams to recruit Joao Palhinha. Marco Silva, the manager of Fulham, wants to keep the 27-year-old midfielder, but he knows that other teams will be paying close attention to him during the summer transfer window. According to Insider’s report, Palhinha could find it difficult to pass up the chance to play for a prestigious European team.

Palhinha was acquired by Fulham last summer for an alleged £20 million from Sporting CP, and the club hopes to significantly profit from the deal. The Portuguese midfielder allegedly has four years left on his £50,000 per week deal, so the Cottagers are confident in their ability to demand a sizable transfer fee for him.

Palhinha has made a name for himself in Fulham’s lineup despite his relatively short stint in the Premier League. He has played in 35 games across all competitions and scored four goals.

According to FBRef, Joao Palhinha has made 122 more tackles than any other player in the top division this season, topping the totals of highly regarded midfielders Tyler Adams and Moises Caicedo. With three appearances at the 2022 World Cup and 20 international outings for Portugal, the 27-year-old is also well-versed at the highest level. Palhinha has played for Sporting and Braga and has made 20 appearances in the Champions League and Europa League.
