Isco has signed a 1-year deal with Real Betis as a free agent

The LaLiga team Real Betis has officially announced the signing of Isco, a Spanish midfielder aged 31, on a one-year contract as a free agent.

The former Real Madrid player’s previous club, Sevilla, terminated his contract only four months after he joined in December. The decision was made by then coach Jorge Sampaoli, who stated that Isco did not meet their expectations as a former player of Real Madrid.

The Spaniard, who has played for the national team 38 times, managed to score only one goal in 19 games while playing for Sevilla.

Isco departed from Madrid in May of the previous year after a nine-year tenure, securing a total of 19 trophies, which encompassed five Champions League titles, three league championships, and four Club World Cups.
