John Terry, the ex-captain of Chelsea, has revealed that he will be rejoining the Premier League club’s academy.
This comes shortly after his time as an assistant manager at Leicester City.
The 42-year-old former England captain initially returned to Chelsea in a coaching consultancy position in 2022, but later joined Dean Smith’s coaching team at Leicester in April of this year.
Terry’s contract was not extended by Leicester after the team was relegated from the Premier League.
“I’m delighted to be back Home working in the academy and continuing my role at the club,” Terry, who started his coaching career in 2018 as an assistant manager at Aston Villa, said in an Instagram post.
The ex-defender and five-time winner of the Premier League achieved victory in all the significant competitions throughout his 19-year tenure at Stamford Bridge, establishing himself as Chelsea’s most accomplished captain.
