Josko Gvardiol has sustained an injury ahead of Croatia’s crucial Nations League games

Josko Gvardiol, a defender from Croatia, will not be able to participate in the upcoming Nations League finals in the Netherlands due to an injury.

Despite undergoing intensive treatment for a stomach injury last week, Croatia’s medical team has concluded that he will not be able to recover in time for the four-nation tournament.

On Wednesday, Croatia will face the Netherlands in Rotterdam for the first semi-final, while Spain and Italy will compete in the second semi-final in Enschede on Thursday.

The victorious teams will play in the final on Sunday. Gvardiol’s non-attendance will be a setback for Croatia, as he was a remarkable player when they made it to the World Cup semi-finals in Qatar in late 2022.

The federation has announced that Dion Drena Beljo, who plays for Augsburg in the Bundesliga, will replace him in the 23-man squad.
