Unfortunately for the fans at Allianz Stadium, the early part of the game was uneventful, with neither team creating significant chances in the attacking third. Scott McTominay, making his full debut for Napoli, was the first to challenge either goalkeeper with a long-range shot that Michele Di Gregorio saved. Despite the lack of quality in the match, Napoli appeared to be the more dangerous side during a tough first half. However, they faced a setback before halftime when goalkeeper Alex Meret had to leave the game due to injury.

After the restart, opportunities were scarce, with Matteo Politano’s wild shot that went over the bar being the closest either team came to scoring in the first 15 minutes of the second half. Juventus had been largely ineffective, but new recruit Teun Koopmeiners seemed eager to make a difference, sending a shot wide from a good position. Napoli’s attacking efforts diminished significantly after halftime, forcing them into a defensive role, while Juventus failed to take advantage, resulting in a goalless draw.

This marks a troubling trend for Thiago Motta’s team, as they have not won or scored in their last three Serie A matches, although they have yet to concede a goal in the league this season. On the other hand, Napoli missed the chance for consecutive away wins in the league for the first time since November 2023.
