Karim Benzema is reportedly considering a deal worth €400 in Saudi Arabia
After receiving a sizable offer from Saudi Arabia, renowned French attacker Karim Benzema is presently considering his future with the Spanish club. The lucrative two-year contract for €400 million that Benzema received in January, according to a source quoted by ESPN, was the same one that Cristiano Ronaldo signed before joining Al Nassr after leaving Manchester United.
Although Benzema had already agreed to extend his contract with Madrid by one year, recent events have made him rethink the alluring Saudi Arabian offer.
Real Madrid had a poor 2022–23 season, losing to Manchester City in the semifinals of the Champions League and failing to mount a serious push for the LaLiga championship against rival Barcelona. These setbacks probably influenced Benzema to consider his options for the future at the Bernabeu.
The French forward had multiple fitness issues during the season, which kept him out of crucial games. In particular, he was unable to compete in the 2022 World Cup, in which France came in second. These issues with his physical condition might have impacted Benzema’s overall happiness and drive at Real Madrid.
