La Liga: Granada vs Real Madrid live
As Real Madrid travel to Los Carmenes this afternoon to face Granada in Match week 14 of the La Liga, they will have their sights set on the top place in the La Liga standings.
Granada have had a slow start to the new season, as they are now in 17th position in the standings, having won only two of their 12 games. Robert Moreno’s side are only a goal difference ahead of 18th-placed Elche and need to start picking up points if they are to get out of the relegation zone. They’ve shown flashes of life recently, with only one loss in their previous five games. However, against the championship contenders, it will be easier said than done.
Real Madrid went into the international break with a 2-1 win over Rayo Vallecano, with goals from Toni Kroos and Karim Benzema. Los Blancos have won eight, drawn three, and lost one of their 12 league matches this season with a total of 27 points, putting them in third place on the table, one point behind first placed Sevilla and second placed Real Sociedad. Madrid have a game in hand and will go top of La Liga if they win today. Real Madrid has scored 28 goals in La Liga this season, but they have also surrendered 13 goals, maintaining only one clean sheet in their previous five games. Eden Hazard, who is suffering from gastroenteritis, will miss the match, while Gareth Bale, Fede Valverde, and Dani Ceballos are also injured.
Madrid have had an upper hand as far as this fixture is concerned with 15 wins out of 16 meeting with Granada. Madrid secured an impressive 4-1 victory in their last La Liga meeting with Granada on May 13. Granada will be hoping to break the monotony while Madrid will not go soft.
Granada have displayed some fight before the international break even though they lost to Espanyol in their most recent fixture. However, they will be coming up against a Real Madrid team that are in the frame for the La Liga title and have shown great resilience and strength to carve out results even at times when things aren’t going their way. We are tipping Madrid to win this game.
