Latest Chelsea News: Despite having a difficult time adjusting to life at Stamford Bridge, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang stated in a recent interview that he was Chelsea’s fastest player last season.

After joining Chelsea from Barcelona the previous summer, the Gabonese striker’s stint there was nothing short of “nightmarish,” with just three goals and one assist in 21 outings. Aubameyang, though, has already found a new beginning in Marseille, where he signed a three-year agreement as a free agent.

The striker, who turned 34 in June, is unwavering in his belief in his ability and maintains that he is still in peak physical condition and prepared to compete at the highest possible level. He claims that during Chelsea’s preseason trainings, he ran at an astounding 36 km/h, outrunning players like Mudryk, Sterling, and James.

“I feel very good. Little anecdote, I held the record for speed at Chelsea last season in training. 36 km/h. So at that level, I think I’m alright,” Aubameyang confidently shared with reporters.

The gifted striker’s choice to relocate to Marseille in Ligue 1 is considered as a chance to resurrect his career. Having played for Saint-Etienne, Dijon, Lille, and Monaco in the past, where he amassed an incredible 41 goals in 120 games, he is no stranger to French football. Aubameyang is keen to once again demonstrate his value while sporting the colors of Marseille.

All eyes are on Aubameyang to play brilliantly for Marseille as the new season draws near. The squad is getting ready to face Panathinaikos in the third round of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, and the striker will be eager to create an impression there.
