Latest on Chelsea transfer news: Atletico Madrid is reportedly interested in Aubameyang and Cucurella and Chelsea wants to take advantage of that to negotiate a permanent deal for Joao Felix
Next season will see a significant revamp at Chelsea Football. Mauricio Pochettino, who is projected to become the club’s next manager, will reportedly have a big influence on the team’s composition, according to reports. The club’s staffs, however, want to provide the incoming manager a clear image of what is feasible.

Joao Felix, a 23-year-old Portuguese who is currently on load at Chelsea from Atletico Madrid, is one of the major players Chelsea is interested in signing. Atletico Madrid, though, is asking £88 million (€100 million) for the player. Chelsea has stated their willingness to negotiate a lower asking price for Felix through trades, with Atletico allegedly interested in both Marc Cucurella and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Aubameyang has made it known last weekend that he plans to return to Barcelona after the conclusion of this season. AC Milan is also interested in the 33-year-old. Felix, meanwhile, made a suggestion that he wants to stay at Chelsea by pointing to his shirt during Saturday’s 3-1 victory against Bournemouth. His preferred option is to stay away from Madrid, where Diego Simeone is expected to keep his job as manager after briefly a rough stint during the early part of the season.
Jorge Mendes, an agent who works closely with both Chelsea and Atletico in the transfer market, will play a major role in the search for a resolution.
Among the Chelsea players with unclear futures are Aubameyang and Cucurella. The team is expecting that Pochettino’s appointment would provide players clarity on their futures at the club. However, the management has reaffirmed that they would take their time making the appointments. For the final four games, Frank Lampard will continue to serve as interim manager.

However, Pochettino will have a say in how Chelsea’s unwieldy 32-man roster is reduced this summer should he be appointed. At least eight players have already been named by the club as potential sales. On the other side, Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle, and Manchester United are all really interested in Mason Mount.
The Blues are also under pressure to sell since they are on UEFA’s watchlist for Financial Fair Play after posting a deficit of £121 million in their most recent financial statements. The club is hoping that Pochettino’s hiring and the sales of a number of players would allow them to regain their financial stability while still fielding a strong squad for the upcoming season.
Next season we might definitely see a substantial change at Chelsea. Chelsea supporters now have higher aspirations following Mauricio Pochettino’s likely appointment as the team’s next manager. However, the management is fully aware of the difficulties they will have while trying to rebuild the squad and maintain financial stability.
