Latest on Chelsea transfer news: Mason Mount’s future at the club has been much of a speculation as the two parties are yet to reach an agreement for extension

The promising Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount is allegedly scheduled to meet with the organization’s leadership next week to consider his future. The 24-year-old is approaching the end of his current deal at Stamford Bridge, which has sparked protracted talks about a contract extension between the player and the organization. Other teams, including Liverpool and Arsenal, have expressed concern about the delay in striking a new deal.

There have also been whispers of a potential £55 million deal for Mount from Manchester United. Furthermore, according to insiders, Newcastle United, which just qualified for the UEFA Champions League, is keeping an eye on how the contract negotiations are going.

However, the impending arrival of Mauricio Pochettino as Chelsea’s next manager has given supporters hope that Mount would reject outside offers and decide to sign a new, long-term contract with the club. Pochettino is rumored to be a major fan of Mount’s skills and considers him to be a vital component of his future plans.

Mount’s struggles with form and fitness this season are similar to Chelsea’s dismal results under three different managers. He has made just 20 starts in the Premier League, providing three goals and two assists. Despite this, Mount was one of Chelsea’s most reliable players previous to this season, winning the club’s Player of the Year award in both the 2020–21 and 202–22 campaigns.

With the hiring of Pochettino and the club’s intention to securing Mount’s long-term commitment, Chelsea intends to move the contract negotiations along by speaking with the midfielder the next week. Chelsea wants to persuade Mount of their goals and vision in order to keep him on the team.
