Latest Tottenham Transfer News: Manor Solomon has signed a five-year deal with Spurs
Tottenham Hotspur has successfully completed the signing of Manor Solomon on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk. The 23-year-old Israeli midfielder has inked a five-year contract with the club, adding to Tottenham’s summer acquisitions.
Solomon spent the previous season on loan at Fulham from Shakhtar, making 24 appearances and finding the back of the net five times. Following the war in Ukraine, where Shakhtar is based, Solomon sought a temporary stay in the Premier League. Despite Shakhtar offering him a contract extension, Solomon expressed his desire to continue playing in England.
While Shakhtar initially intended to take legal action against clubs attempting to sign their players without payment, FIFA’s ruling in May allowed foreign players based in Ukraine or Russia to suspend their contracts for an additional year. As Solomon’s contract with Shakhtar was set to expire on December 31, 2023, his agreement with the Ukrainian club will now lapse, enabling him to join Tottenham on a free transfer.
Manor Solomon becomes Tottenham’s fourth signing of the summer, joining Dejan Kulusevski (signed permanently after a loan spell), Guglielmo Vicario, and James Maddison as new additions to the squad. The club’s head coach, Ange Postecoglou, is preparing for his first game in charge, a pre-season friendly against West Ham United in Perth, Australia on July 18.
Tottenham Hotspur continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the upcoming season, with the addition of Manor Solomon adding further depth and quality to the team.
