On Friday, Lazio announced the signing of Valentin ‘Taty’ Castellanos, an Argentine striker, from New York City FC, a team in Major League Soccer.
Lazio did not provide specific information, but according to Italian media reports, he signed a five-year contract with a transfer fee of approximately 15 million euros, with an additional five million euros in potential add-ons.
Castellanos played for Girona in the Spanish LaLiga on loan last season, scoring 14 goals in 37 games.
He made the news when he scored four goals against Real Madrid in a 4-2 win in April – becoming the first player in 75 years to accomplish this against them in LaLiga.
Lazio secured a second-place finish, earning themselves a spot in the Champions League.
