Leicester City vs Liverpool Review
Trent Alexander-Arnold made a successful comeback from injury by scoring the decisive goal in Liverpool’s 1-0 victory over Leicester City in the Premier League. This win brought the Reds within three points of clinching the title, marking their 13th win in the last 16 encounters against the Foxes, who were relegated as a result. The Reds displayed their determination, with Mohamed Salah hitting both posts just three minutes into the match. Stephy Mavididi posed a challenge for Conor Bradley, setting up Wilfred Ndidi for a shot that also struck the woodwork, but Salah quickly reminded everyone of his danger as he pressured Mads Hermansen.

The away team continued to perform well, with Dominik Szoboszlai attempting a long-range free-kick that was confidently caught by Hermansen. Luke Thomas then blocked Salah’s next shot, and Ibrahima Konaté’s header was easily saved. Conor Coady was relieved when Luis Díaz got behind him to set up Cody Gakpo, but Hermansen managed to tip Gakpo’s header wide. The busy Leicester goalkeeper also stopped another attempt from Gakpo aimed at the top corner, while Ndidi cleared a more threatening header from Konaté, and Salah missed a chance from close range.

After the break, Hermansen was involved again, deflecting Szoboszlai’s long-range shot before Coady hurried back to clear the ball from Gakpo, who had his shot blocked by Ricardo Pereira. The Reds continued to create opportunities without scoring, as Díaz shot over, Hermansen denied Kostas Tsimikas, Salah curled a shot wide, and Diogo Jota headed off target from Liverpool’s 20th attempt. Coady did manage to put the ball in the Liverpool net in the 67th minute, but the celebration was short-lived as the goal was disallowed for a foul by Patson Daka on Alisson Becker.

The visitors quickly regained their momentum, and after Salah and Jota both struck the post, Alexander-Arnold scored the decisive goal. He then celebrated by removing his shirt in front of the Liverpool supporters, who sang “we’re gonna win the league” following their team’s second consecutive victory. Although Leicester put up a strong fight, their relegation was confirmed, and they extended their unfortunate Premier League record to nine straight home games without scoring. Meanwhile, Liverpool is just one win away from clinching the title.
