Liverpool Transfer Rumor: Liverpool is prepared to spend half of Bellingham’s valuation to sign Inter Milan midfielder, Nicolo Barella
Liverpool is reportedly interested in acquiring Nicolo Barella from Inter Milan to bolster their midfield options. In order to “try to solve its economic situation,” Inter Milan “needs to make sales” this summer, therefore Liverpool might take advantage of that to strike a deal for Barella. Although both parties wish to continue their adventure together, Barella is not available for sale. The Italian midfielder is worth about €75 million to Inter.

Barella, who is regarded as one of Serie A’s top midfielders, played a significant role in Inter’s Scudetto-winning campaign two years ago under Antonio Conte. According to reports, Liverpool sees Barella as a potential addition who might boost the team’s ability to compete in all areas next season. Liverpool is now interested in Barella after pulling out of the competition to recruit Jude Bellingham who is priced around £130m.
Barella, who is 26 years old, is having a successful Serie A season while playing a major role in Inter’s run to the Champions League semi-finals. The midfielder is apparently a target for Jurgen Klopp this summer. It is uncertain whether Liverpool will be able to persuade Inter Milan to surrender their top player, though.
It is worth knowing that Barella is not the only player Liverpool has targeted. Back in January, Liverpool were strongly linked with Wolverhampton wanderers midfielder, Matheus Nunes. However, that rumour has died down with fresh ones coming in. Chelsea’ Mason Mount is one name that has been mentioned. The England international has a year left on his contract and is yet to sign a new one with the London club.
Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips is also in the contention, with reports claiming that the former Leeds United star is interested in the move. This could be as a result of his limited playing time at City.
