Omar Marmoush scored a hat-trick in the first half, leading Manchester City to a 4-0 win over Newcastle in the Premier League and extending their impressive home record against Newcastle to 16 straight victories. After a disappointing loss to Real Madrid earlier in the week, Pep Guardiola’s team was eager to bounce back against Newcastle. They started the match with great energy, and their efforts paid off in the 19th minute when Ederson’s long ball found Marmoush, who calmly lobbed the ball over Martin Dúbravka to net his first goal for City.

With all the momentum on their side, City increased their lead just five minutes later when Marmoush scored with a low shot from 18 yards, assisted by İlkay Gündoğan. After winning six consecutive away games, Eddie Howe’s team looked for a way back into the match following a poor first half-hour. However, it was the dominant City team that added to their lead before halftime.

Savinho displayed great vision by finding Marmoush in the box, and the forward delivered a powerful first-time shot into the corner, completing an impressive first-half hat-trick. City maintained their control at the beginning of the second half, with Dúbravka making saves against Savinho and Erling Haaland in quick succession. Nevertheless, the visitors fought back, and Ederson had to stay sharp to deflect a bending shot from Lewis Miley as Newcastle sought a moment of brilliance in the final third as the match approached its conclusion.

The Magpies struggled to create clear opportunities, and the home team scored a fourth goal with six minutes left when substitute James McAtee volleyed in from Haaland’s flicked header, capping off a flawless day for Guardiola’s team. This marks City’s first clean sheet in seven games, moving them up to fourth place in the Premier League standings, while Newcastle faces their third loss in four league games, losing crucial ground in the battle for Champions League qualification.
