Manchester City vs Wolves Review
Manchester City secured their fourth consecutive Premier League victory, enhancing their chances of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League next season, by defeating Wolves 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium. Both teams attempted long-range shots early in the match, with Rúben Dias and Matheus Cunha missing the target within the first three minutes. Wolves then had several excellent opportunities to score. Jean-Ricner Bellegarde managed to evade City’s offside trap but failed to connect with Marshall Munetsi, who was just inches away from receiving the pass. Left wing-back Rayan Aït-Nouri also had a chance in the box, hitting the post with his left foot, and his subsequent right-footed shot was cleared off the line by Joško Gvardiol.

The home team gained the upper hand towards the end of the first half when Nico O’Reilly’s close-range shot was saved by José Sá. Jérémy Doku then set up Kevin De Bruyne, who scored by placing the ball in the bottom corner, making him a fan favorite at the Etihad as he is set to leave at the season’s end. Despite going behind, Wolves remained undeterred and hit the post early in the second half with a shot from Cunha at a tight angle.

However, City started to regain control, with Omar Marmoush and Mateo Kovačić missing their chances, failing to secure a second goal to seal the match. In the end, City won, extending their home winning streak against Wolves to five matches, while Wolves’ six-game winning run came to an end.
