Manchester United vs Arsenal Review
Arsenal secured their third victory in 18 top-flight matches at Old Trafford, defeating Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford. Manchester United was eager to move past their worst Premier League season, while Arsenal embarked on another title pursuit. Encouraged by the Stretford End crowd, Manchester United started strongly, creating some promising chances but failing to seriously challenge David Raya. Meanwhile, Turkish international Altay Bayındır, standing in for André Onana, made a dramatic error early on by mishandling Declan Rice’s inswinging corner. This mistake caused the ball to deflect to the far post, where Riccardo Calafiori headed it in from close range, giving Arsenal the lead.

This marked the 12th consecutive league visit to Old Trafford where Arsenal managed to score, and the goal helped Mikel Arteta’s team gain control of the match. Opportunities were limited, but once the home side settled, they demonstrated the threat they carry. Among several notable summer signings, United winger Bryan Mbeumo had a shot deflected wide, Patrick Dorgu fired a low shot that struck the base of the post, and Mbeumo’s fellow newcomer Matheus Cunha forced Raya into two saves, as the visitors maintained their narrow lead at halftime.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with United showing promise but failing to create clear chances. Cunha and Mbeumo continued to spearhead the attack, with Mbeumo narrowly missing an improvised bicycle kick after an impressive run from Cunha. Mbeumo came even closer in the 74th minute with a powerful header from a Dorgu cross, but Raya made an excellent save to deny the Cameroonian a debut goal.

In the last 10 minutes, United’s pressure faded as Arsenal took control of the game, and their clever defensive efforts prevented the home team from recovering any points in this match. Marking the Gunners’ 100th consecutive top-division season with a victory, they have also stretched their unbeaten away streak in the league to 15 games. Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim’s team showed an improved performance compared to much of last season, even though they failed to score for the fourth time in five Premier League home matches.
