Arsenal came back from a goal down to secure a 1-1 draw against Manchester United in the Premier League, marking the second consecutive match between the two teams that ended in a tie after 90 minutes. Following their impressive midweek win over PSV Eindhoven, Arsenal started brightly and nearly scored early on when Mikel Merino shot just wide in the 10th minute. Although Alejandro Garnacho posed some challenges on the right side, the visitors mostly maintained control but found it difficult to penetrate Manchester United’s defense, with Martin Ødegaard’s long-range effort being saved by André Onana.

Thomas Partey became the latest player to miss a shot from outside the box. Leandro Trossard also shot wide after an awkward touch, failing to redirect Ødegaard’s chipped pass into Onana’s hands. Despite struggling to create chances for most of the first half, United took the lead just before halftime when Garnacho earned a free-kick that Bruno Fernandes converted with a powerful shot into the top corner, marking their first shot on target.

Ayden Heaven made his Premier League debut after joining United from Arsenal in January, and the 18-year-old quickly adapted. The Gunners continued to create chances from corner variations, but both Ødegaard and Rice were unable to score against Onana. Shortly after, the hosts’ wing-backs linked up, with Diogo Dalot setting up Noussair Mazraoui, who forced a fantastic save from David Raya. The Gunners’ goalkeeper then denied an instinctive flick from Zirkzee, while Trossard’s attempt at the other end went wide. Eventually, Rice provided the finishing touch the visitors needed, scoring with a first-time shot from Jurriën Timber’s pass that hit the post.

Neither team was able to score again as Onana deflected Gabriel Martinelli’s shot wide. Rice and Gabriel Magalhães made crucial stops to thwart Rasmus Højlund, while Raya made an excellent save to prevent Fernandes from scoring in stoppage time. As a result, Arsenal ended up with their second straight draw in the Premier League, leaving them 15 points behind league leaders Liverpool. This match also marked Manchester United’s third draw in their last four matches across all competitions, which was sufficient to move them up one position in the standings.
