Calf injury knocks Matthijs de Ligt out of Nations League finals, replaced by Daley Blind

The Dutch football association announced that 23-year-old defender Matthijs de Ligt sustained a calf injury during training with the Netherlands team. As a result, he has withdrawn from the squad for the upcoming Nations League finals.

De Ligt, who has played in 41 matches, got injured during a training session on Saturday. As a result, his teammate Daley Blind from Bayern Munich will take his place in the 23-player squad.

The tournament is being held in the Netherlands, and the first semi-final will take place in Rotterdam on Wednesday between the Netherlands and Croatia.

On Thursday, Italy and Spain will compete in Enschede, and the victorious team will advance to the final on Sunday.

Squad: 

Goalkeepers: Bijlow, Flekken, Noppert.

Defenders: Ake, Bergwijn, Blind, Botman, Van Dijk, Dumfries, Geertruida, Malacia, Timber.

Midfielders: Frenkie de Jong, Koopmeiners, Reijnders, De Roon, Simons, Veerman, Wieffer, Wijnaldum.

Forwards: Gakpo, Lang, Malen, Memphis, Weghorst.
