Tuesday night at the Parc des Princes, the Bavarians won by a slim margin thanks to a goal from Kingsley Coman.

Mbappe, who had just recovered from a thigh injury, came off the bench in the second half and gave the hosts life after a disastrous first half in which PSG had exactly zero shots on goal.

He had two goals ruled out for offside, and Bayern was later reduced to ten men after Benjamin Pavard was sent for a reckless foul while already in the penalty box.

Mbappe reiterated to RMC after the game that PSG was “disadvantaged” die to his fitness issues, but that if PSG’s attackers are totally fit, they will cause Bayern problems at the Allianz Arena.

“We have to look at the end of the game, we were disadvantaged but we managed to cause them issues,” he said.

“We’re going over there [to Munich] to qualify. We worked day and night. Our players have to be in good health for the return leg, everyone needs to eat and sleep well. They [Bayern] are not comfortable when we play attacking football.”
