Jhon Duran, who recently joined Aston Villa from Chicago Fire, has “all the desire in the world” to be successful at Villa Park.
The 19-year-old striker officially joined Unai Emery’s team on Monday for a rumoured sum of up to £17.8 million ($22 million).
Duran, a Colombian international, had a productive first season in Major League Soccer, making 27 appearances for the Fire and contributing to three goals and eight assists.
In order to establish himself in the Premier League, the former Envigado striker wants to duplicate such performance.
“I have all the desire in the world,” Duran told Villa’s official website. “Lots of desire to work hard, give everything to the team and win. I’m hoping I can play soon.
“I’m a player that plays with a lot of passion, who is dedicated to the team, and a player that really wants to win always.
“I know it’s the most important league in the world. It’s the best league in the world, and I have all the desire in the world to get on the pitch and score that first goal.”
According to reports, Duran has a deal that runs until June 2028. He is excited about working with Emery, whose team is now 11th in the Premier League, but only three points behind sixth-place Brighton and Hove Albion.
