Neymar has been fined for breaking environmental regulations in Brazil
Brazilian officials announced on Monday that Neymar has been penalized with a fine of 16 million reais ($3.33 million) for violating environmental regulations while building his seaside mansion in southeastern Brazil.
The extravagant venture was accused by local authorities last month of disregarding guidelines related to the utilization and transportation of freshwater sources, rocks, and sand. This allegation has now been confirmed.
Neymar’s representative chose not to provide any comment regarding the issue. Neymar’s house is situated in Mangaratiba, a town on the southern coast of Rio de Janeiro state in Brazil.
The environmental authority of Mangaratiba released a statement on Monday stating that violations of environmental regulations occurred during the construction of a man-made lake at Neymar’s mansion.
In addition to the imposed fine, the case will be investigated by various environmental control agencies, including the local attorney general’s office, the state civil police, and the environmental protection office.
