Nottingham Forest recently announced that they have finalized the acquisition of Nigerian defender Ola Aina on a one-year contract.
Aina’s previous contract with Italian team Torino had come to an end.
Aina started his career at Chelsea’s academy and later joined Torino on a permanent transfer in 2019. He had a loan stint at Fulham in the 2020/21 season, where he also played in the Premier League.
“It’s exciting to be back playing in the Premier League. It’s the best league in the world and I always want to challenge myself,” Aina said in a statement.
Aina has represented Nigeria in 30 international matches since his debut in 2017. He previously played for England at the youth level.
Forest, who ranked 16th in the Premier League last season, will start their league season against Arsenal on August 12th.
