Patrick Vieira is favourite to coach Strasbourg following his fairly successful stint with Crystal Palace
Patrick Vieira, a former manager of Crystal Palace, is now the favorite to lead Strasbourg into the future. Vieira, who has been unemployed since leaving Crystal Palace in the Premier League at the end of last season, is about to join Todd Boehly’s group at the French club after they acquired majority control.
After finishing 15th in the league, Strasbourg, who had just fired Frederic Antonetti, are aggressively looking for a new manager to transform the squad for the next 2023–24 season. L’Equipe says that Boehly’s BlueCo firm, which now owns Strasbourg, is anxious to reach an agreement with Vieira to serve as the team’s manager.
Vieira seems to be the main aim for Strasbourg, even though other prospects like Philippe Montanier and Karel Geraerts are also being taken into consideration. Since Montanier is rumored to be seeking a break from football after leaving Toulouse, Vieira is now the leading candidate for the management role. The club is thought to favor hiring a Frenchman.
Since leaving Crystal Palace, Patrick Vieira’s name has been connected to several managerial openings. Although jobs with Leeds United and the United States Men’s National Team had been speculated about, the connection with a move to Stade de la Meinau now appears to be the most solid. The club’s change in ownership and the need for a new manager have provided an ideal situation; hence, Patrick Vieira is favourite to coach Strasbourg.
The team hopes to conclude the hiring of their next manager soon as Strasbourg looks to prepare for the 2023–24 season. Vieira or another candidate will have the chance to lead Strasbourg towards their objectives on the domestic scene in the Ligue 1 and Coupe de France for the upcoming season.
