PSG Latest: Galtier Firmly Denies the Accusations and Vows to Take Legal Action

Christophe Galtier, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, has publicly addressed the allegations of racist and Islamophobic comments levied against him for the first time. Galtier was accused of complaining about the number of black and Muslim players in his squad during his time as the head coach of Nice, prior to his move to PSG. The accusations were made in a leaked email allegedly sent by Nice’s former sporting director, Julien Fournier, to Dave Brailsford, a director at the club’s owners, Ineos.

Fournier claimed that Galtier wanted to get rid of several black and Muslim players from his squad and even vetoed the signing of Ozan Kabak from Schalke because of the player’s Turkish nationality. Galtier is also alleged to have taken issue with players fasting during Ramadan, despite being presented with scientific data proving that it had little effect on their physical levels.

Galtier’s lawyer has already denied the accusations, and the coach himself has now addressed the media, stating that he was “deeply shocked” by the allegations and would not allow his and his family’s name to be “sullied”. He has decided to take legal action against anyone who harms his reputation and has faith in the judicial system to clear his name.

In response, PSG has issued a statement expressing support for Galtier and calling on everyone to “take responsibility and calm down”. The club also stated that they want the truth to be established by justice and will wait for the conclusion of the judicial process.

Despite the accusations, PSG is focused on their upcoming top-of-the-table clash with RC Lens. The club is currently six points clear at the summit of Ligue 1. Galtier has emphasised that his energy and concentration are turned towards this objective, and he will not comment further on the allegations.
