PSG News Latest: Sergio Rico is still in then intensive care unit

Sergio Rico, the goalkeeper for Paris St Germain, is currently in intensive care following a riding accident during a yearly pilgrimage in southern Spain. According to his family, Rico was involved in a severe incident involving a mule cart and a horse. Reports from Spanish newspaper Marca suggest that Rico was riding a horse at the time of the accident.

PSG allowed the Spaniard to participate in the pilgrimage.

“Sergio is in good hands, fighting to recover while receiving the best care from the medical team at the Virgen del Rocio Hospital. We must exercise caution, especially during the next 48 hours,” his family said.

“We are now awaiting medical results, which we hope will be positive, so that we can inform you of his improvement as soon as possible,” they added.

During the spring season, a large number of followers gather at a holy site to show their respect to the Virgin of the Rocio in Andalusia. This occasion is a blend of religious devotion and lively celebration.

In 2020, Rico became a member of PSG after spending a season on loan with the team. He initially began his professional career with a Spanish club called Sevilla.
