Paris Saint-Germain has officially announced the signing of Marco Asensio on a free transfer. The forward, whose contract with Real Madrid recently expired, has agreed to join PSG on a three-year deal.

Asensio’s arrival at PSG comes with a long-term agreement in place, and he is expected to earn approximately €10 million (£8.5 million) per year, including salary and bonuses, with the Ligue 1 side, according to The Athletic.

Expressing his excitement about the move, Asensio said, “It’s a privilege to be part of this great club. I’m looking forward to joining my new teammates and working with them to achieve some great goals.” The Spanish international’s versatility and attacking prowess are expected to add further depth and quality to PSG’s already formidable squad.

Having spent seven years at Real Madrid since his signing from Mallorca in 2015, Asensio amassed an impressive trophy haul, including three Champions League titles, three La Liga titles, four Club World Cups, three European Super Cups, three Spanish Super Cups, and one Copa del Rey. During the 2022-23 season, he made 51 appearances for the La Liga side, scoring 12 goals and providing 8 assists.
