PSG Transfer News: Despite opposition from Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is getting closer to clinching a substantial deal for Goncalo Ramos.

The Portuguese striker, who has been sought after by both teams this summer, is set to sign for PSG in a £69 million deal, with potential add-ons, and is supposedly only days away from doing so.

Manchester United had previously stated interest in signing the 22-year-old attacker and was prepared to make a club-record offer for him during the summer window. However, PSG has now seized the initiative in the race to sign Ramos, according to rumours that the deal’s last-minute specifics are being worked out.

The striker and PSG have reportedly reached an agreement on a deal that will keep him with the team through June 2028, according to famous journalist Fabrizio Romano. Ramos will be added to PSG’s offensive frontline in a transaction that is anticipated to cost £69 million. The probable acquisition also hints to the French club’s plans to bolster their roster before the start of the new campaign.

Goncalo Ramos became well-known during the previous season, scoring an outstanding 27 goals in 46 games for Benfica to help the team win the Liga Portugal championship. Top European teams took notice of his amazing finishing skills and impressive hat-trick performance for Portugal at the 2022 World Cup, making him a highly sought-after player.

Ramos’ native countryman and current club captain Bruno Fernandes had pushed for the Portuguese striker’s acquisition at Manchester United, complimenting the player’s attributes and ability to rank among the game’s top attackers. Ramos was reportedly Manchester United’s top priority, but it seems that they were unsuccessful in their pursuit of him, giving PSG the chance to seize the initiative.

Ramos’ prospective transfer to PSG is moving forward, while Manchester United is also close to completing a deal to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta for a reported £72 million. PSG hopes to bolster its front line as it gets closer to signing Goncalo Ramos and despite rumors about the future of star player Kylian Mbappe, who has drawn attention from Liverpool and Chelsea.
