Real Madrid’s head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, recently gave a news conference prior to a Champions League matchup versus Manchester City. Ancelotti admitted that Manchester City is a more well-rounded squad than it was during last season’s Champions League campaign, but it still bears the coaching imprint of Pep Guardiola.
Erling Haaland is the main threat to his squad, he added, but he expressed confidence in their ability to use their own weaponry effectively. At the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, where the match will take place, Real Madrid is anticipated to give Manchester City a tough game.
“It’s a complete team that plays very good football. We are working to stop a team that seems unstoppable,” Ancelotti declared in his pre-match press conference.
“We’ll have our chances. We’re in good shape and at the same level as last season.
“What counts is motivation, enthusiasm… Winning the Copa del Rey is a bonus.”
Luka Modric had been on an injury lay-off; however, Ancelotti says that the Croatian midfielder will play today against Manchester City. According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, Luka Modric has had his contract extended at Real Madrid, alongside teammate Toni Kroos.
“He can play without a problem. He’s going to play,” he continued.
Carlo Ancelotti, the former Napoli manager, disagrees with criticism of Manchester City’s playing strategy this season, particularly assertions that the presence of Erling Haaland has hampered team movement and fluidity on the pitch. Ancelotti anticipates a challenging game on Tuesday because he feels Manchester City is still a dominating force.
