Vinicius Jr was racially harassed by Real Valladolid supporters during their recent loss to Real Madrid, with Brazilian legend and owner (Real Valladolid) Ronaldo Nazario, criticising the fans for such behaviour.
The winger endured a barrage of racial insults from home supporters as he departed the field during Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory at the Estadio Municipal Jose Zorrilla on Friday.
Ronaldo, a former player for Madrid who later became Valladolid’s primary stakeholder in 2018, defended Vinicius on Twitter.
“Regrettable, disgusting, shameful, inadmissible. Racists and xenophobes do not represent us. Vinicius Junior, all my support, respect and affection,” Ronaldo wrote.

“Real Valladolid is available to the authorities to collaborate in the investigation so that those responsible are removed from the club.”
After the game, Vinicius Jr tweeted: “Racists continue to go to stadiums and watch the biggest club in the world up close and La Liga continues to do nothing…I will continue with my head held high and celebrating my victories and those of Madrid. In the end it’s MY fault.”
Since then, La Liga has filed an official complaint with Spain’s anti-violence committee, which handles discrimination complaints. However, they have previously exonerated Atletico Madrid supporters of any wrongdoing for visibly insulting Vinicius racially earlier this season.
