Ruben Loftus-Cheek is prepared to take on a position of authority at AC Milan following his transfer from his childhood team, Chelsea.
The 27-year-old English player, who spent nearly two decades at Stamford Bridge and achieved success in the Premier League, Europa League, and UEFA Super Cup, has joined the ‘Rossoneri’.
During that period, Loftus-Cheek played in more than 155 matches and netted 13 goals before committing to a four-year contract with Milan.
“I understand the weight of the (Milan) shirt and my responsibility coming into this club,” Ruben Loftus-Cheek told reporters.
“I’ve had a lot of experience in football, and I can use that… I feel ready and good physically to produce performances for the team, and I’m ready to be a leader.”
“I was happy playing for my boyhood club, but I didn’t feel really content with how much I was contributing to the team. I feel like I have more to give.”
“So, I thought it was a good time to make a fresh start.”
Loftus-Cheek is likely to join Milan, where he will be playing alongside his former Chelsea teammate, Christian Pulisic. He believes that Pulisic would be a valuable addition to the team.
Milan will begin their preparations for the upcoming season in the United States, where they will have friendly matches against Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Juventus.
