Newcastle United has successfully completed the signing of Tino Livramento from Southampton.
The 20-year-old full-back has signed a five-year contract with the club, and his arrival is seen as a significant boost to Newcastle’s squad ahead of their return to the Champions League this season.
The transfer fee for Livramento remains undisclosed, but it’s believed to be around £40 million. He was a sought-after talent, and discussions between the two clubs had been ongoing since June.
Livramento, who rose through the academy ranks at Chelsea before joining Southampton in 2021, is highly rated for his abilities as a full-back. Despite only making two appearances for Southampton last season due to an injury, he’s considered a promising young talent.
Newcastle United’s manager, Eddie Howe, expressed his excitement about working with Livramento and highlighted his potential to grow within the team. The addition of Livramento adds to Newcastle’s summer signings, including Sandro Tonali, Harvey Barnes, and Yankubah Minteh.
Livramento himself expressed his enthusiasm about joining Newcastle and learning from experienced players like Kieran Trippier. The young full-back is looking forward to contributing to the team’s continued growth and success.
Newcastle United, which finished fourth in the Premier League last season, is preparing for a return to the Champions League after a 20-year absence. They will begin their Premier League campaign at home against Aston Villa on Saturday.
